Well after a wonderful second semest in Rome, it feels good to be back in the States for a little while. I arrived back in Dayton on June 2nd and have been readjusting to life here in America. It feels a little strange to be able to understand all the conversations going on around me in public places because here everyone speaks English! It is also strange to be able to get free refills practically everywhere I go. I told one of my Italian friends about free refills and he was astonished. “Free refills? All you can drink? I must come visit!” he said.
I want to answer some frequent questions I have been getting so that you can be in the know.
Will you be going back to Rome? Yes I will be going back to Rome for another year.
How long will you remain in the States? I will be back in the States until early September when I will leave again for Rome.
What will you be doing this summer? My first priority will be to reraise support to cover the costs of ministry for next year. Other than that I will be spending time with my family and friends and reading a lot.
Can I hear about what you did are what you saw the Lord do in Rome? Yes! I would love to sit and talk with you about this past year and all that the Lord did. Please let me know if you want to meet for coffee or something to talk. Also, in a few weeks I will have an Italian dessert night to celebrate what the Lord did, to thank you for your prayers and support, and to enjoy delicious Italian treats!
How can I get ahold of you? The easiest way to get ahold of me is by email joelhardman@gmail.com or by cell (937) 478-4963.
Where do you stand with support and should I continue to give through the summer? I will be talking with supporters throughout the summer about continuing and/or increasing their support for next year. If at all possible, your support through the summer will help temendously to offset the increased exchange rate.
