coffee shop humor

glass_milk.jpgSo you know how I have been on this kick of really missing American coffee, especially Starbucks? Dan (our team leader) and I wanted to get some coffee before settling in and having a quiet time. Today Dan and I scouted out an American style coffee shop about a block and a half from the pantheon. The place is great, they roast their own beans and grind their own beans. No wonder it was packed from wall to wall. We paid for our tasty beverages and took our reciepts over to the counter and handed the reciepts to the barista. I ordered a capuccino and the barista looks to Dan to ask him what he ordered. The barista asks Dan again what he ordered, and then again.
“Latte freddo!” Dan exclaimed.
No biggie right? The place was busy and extremely noisy, so he must not have heard him right?
I get my capuccino and a minute later Dan gets his drink, a nice small glass of cold milk. Latte freddo, it turns out, literally means cold milk. No wonder the barista kept asking Dan what he ordered. Who comes into a busy coffee shop and orders a cold glass of milk? Dan Weller does.

Can you hear me now?

Can you hear me now?

No, no, I don’t have Verizon wireless, but praise the Lord I have a vonage phone with a Rome, NY phone number. That’s right, a US phone number! So it is just as if I were in the United States of America, just six hours ahead of time. So what does this mean? Well basically it means you can call me free of charge. There is a ground rule though because of the time difference, no calls after 6 PM or before 3 AM local Ohio time. If you would like the phone number, just send me an email to my gmail account and I will send you the number.
